SA Youth’s OST programs provide a diversion and outlet designed to prevent school-age children and youth from negative behaviors while also promoting academic success. SA Youth provides safe places, caring adults, and positive activities during the out-of-school time when juvenile crime and delinquency peak.
SA Youth Fosters:
- A safe place to learn and grow
- Caring adult role models
- Marketable skills
- Giving back through community service
These benefits have been stated by General Colin Powell in America’s Promise. SA Youth programs have been consistently aligned with this research-based evidence model since our humble beginnings.
SA Youth helps to close the gap during the out-of-school time by providing safe places, caring adults, and constructive learning activities at nine locations in highly distressed neighborhoods in San Antonio.
SA Youth not only provides 12 safe places for urban youth, but also promotes skills, talents, and learning objectives that prepare youth for successful entry into adulthood.
