40 YEARS OF SA YOUTH

It is a blessing that I am here after dropping out of school, after delivering five children, after suffering through loss and abuse of all kinds, and after drug addiction. There was a point where I lost almost everything, including my life. I slowly got myself together. I met a wonderful man and his awesome kids, and I just recently celebrated three years of sobriety. I had dreamed of graduating high school, but, being 25, I didn’t think it would happen until I found SOAR! I really can’t thank y’all enough because as a mom I am always taking care of others, but this program took care of me. And now that I have my diploma, I get to have bigger dreams.

The SOAR! program is built around three key areas that have played a huge role in shaping who we are today: education, workforce training, and leadership development. These aren’t just words we’ve heard over and over—they are the foundation of our growth and success. Through the education component, we’ve worked hard to complete our high school diplomas. But it wasn’t just about finishing assignments; it was about developing a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in life, no matter the challenges.
