What is Lemonade Day?
Lemonade Day is a program that teaches students how to start, own, and operate their very own business - a lemonade stand. Each year, in participating cities, young students have the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship by setting up their business during their city's community-wide Lemonade Day. This year, Lemonade Day is making its return to San Antonio and SA Youth!
How does SA Youth participate?
In 2021 SA Youth hosted our first Lemonade Day at only three Academic Achiever Summer sites with great success. With our first year under our belt, we are excited to expand to all 14 Academic Achiever sites! On April 7th, students had the hands-on opportunity to learn more about executing a business plan, as well as learning about financial literacy. Before hosting their lemonade stand, students dove into lesson plans that discuss basic budgeting, supply management, customer relations, math, and problem-solving skills.
