Pilar Pinilla was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but immigrated to the U.S. when she was 3 years old. Much like the children SA Youth serves, Pilar came from humble beginnings, but with the support of many mentors throughout her life, she eventually earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture development from Texas A&M University in College Station. She is currently a senior project manager at Pace Communications in San Antonio, overseeing several projects and finding creative solutions for her clients. Pilar performs with a competitive salsa dancing team at local, state and national events. When she isn't dancing, Pilar is busy with her three children, Kian (age 12), Isabella (age 10) and Sophia (age 8). Their favorite activities include spending time at the bookstore, volunteering with local nonprofits, playing board games, cheering on their Aggie football team and traveling the world.
